Sunday Summary: 1/6 to 1/11, 2014

Here's a quick summary of what we've posted to the blog for the week of  January 6th to 11th, 2014.

Monday
Beware the Scarlet Plague adapted Jack London's peculiar apocalyptic plague to Wermspittle.

Tuesday
We posted our first installment dealing with The Inner Ramparts surrounding The Baffles and the things that the beleaguered Wall Guard try their best to keep contained. There will be more posts in this series, providing encounter tables and other pertinent details in the days and weeks ahead.

Wednesday
Look to the East provided a glimpse into the Eastern Reaches where several small farm-enclaves have been recently established.

We also did an image for Venger's 'Save Versus Purple' thingy.

Thursday
Bujilli: Episode 74 Took Bujilli and his friends into the heart of the Oneirical Studies Section. Bujilli by-passes Sprague's trapped-door with some inspired reworking of some of his less common spells. The group then splits-up; Gudrun and Sharisse move back down the stairs to deal with the Mirror-born and Bujilli, Leeja and Gnosiomandus go to confront Sprague in his lair.

Friday
The Shollog made its way to this blog by way of Zalchis. Maybe it will make an appearance at Con of the north, perhaps not; it depends on the players...

Saturday
Meet Ushnab Belagarg, our elf adventurer from the recently launched Delving Rappan Athuk game over at Unseen Servant. We're just getting started with this PBP game and will post updates as things start to happen.

Next Week...
We're getting ready for Con of the North, so there will be some more posts regarding the scenarios we'll be running there.

Sunday, January 5, 2014

Sunday Summary: Week of 12/30 2013 to 1/4, 2014

Here's a quick summary of what we've posted to the blog for the week of  Monday 12/30, 2013 to Saturday 1/4, 2014.

Monday
We participated in Tim Snider's Obsolete Simulations Roundup blog-hop. Our second installment was a review and consideration of Tri-Tac's often-overlooked classic Fringeworthy.

Tuesday
We posted our third set of Scenario Seeds featuring Obelisks. We also revised the graphic for this series and did a little cleaning-up of the older entries in the series in preparation for assembling an index. We'll have a few more new Scenario Seeds in the months ahead.

We also posted a teaser-sample image of the main villain from one of our Adventures that will be coming out very soon.

Wednesday
We're very happy to be hosting the January RPG Blog Carnival here at the Hereticwerks blog. The topic this month is Transitions. The blog Carnival is open to anyone interested in participating. Everyone is welcome. Just click over to our Announcement Post for all the details. Or feel free to contact us if you have any questions not answered in the post or at the RPGBA site.

January 1st was also Public Domain Day. We almost missed it, and hope to do something special for next year!

Thursday
Bujilli: Episode 73 Featured some strange magic and even stranger interior decorating as Bujilli attempted to dispel whatever was blocking his amulet's connection to Hedrard. The episode ended with the group facing a locked door...should they pick the lock, kick it in, or use a Knock spell? You Decide!

We'll post a reminder on Tuesday. Hopefully...

Friday
Ten Recently Reported Types of Black Smoke, provides a handy reference for those about to encounter the nasty stuff...and yes, we will have more details on Black Smoke detectors, predictors, and forecasts. Thanks for the suggestion Trey!

The Aethyrim made their first appearance on the blog. These rotten things can be a nightmare to encounter in the basements and cellars of the Burned Over Districts. Good thing the Cellar Inspectors usually carry along a few bells, whistles and bright lights when they go poking around in these sorts of places...

Saturday
A Few Things from The Zones. Our contribution to the community project: From The Zones, being hosted by the FATEsf blog.

Next Week...
There's a lot of stuff on the old desk and lined-up in the hard-drive, including some fresh monsters, more Glyph-Gems, some Gravelands stuff, and more Wermspittle, especially as we get ready to run the Cellar Inspectors scenario at Con of the North...

Sunday Summary: Week of 12/23 to 12/29, 2013 (Delayed)

Things got a little jumbled over the holidays, plus I scalded my hand pretty badly, so the Sunday Summary for the last week of December got skipped. Until now.

Here's a quick summary of what we've posted to the blog for the week of  Monday 12/23 to Sunday 12/29, 2013.

Monday
We posted our first new entry for the revised and expanding Zalchis Bestiary. The Malevolent Vestiges are mindless echoes of forgotten things that do not want to remain forgotten. They are on the Wandering Monster matrix for the upcoming Zalchis: Cold Start scenario at Con of the North in February 2014. That time is fast approaching, so we'll have a few more things to share very soon.

Tuesday
Lorveer's Mask is a peculiar relic that could show up in any number of places, spaces and campaigns. It has its uses, but it will insist on using the wearer in its own schemes. This isn't just another unpretty face, this mask has an ego and a personality...too bad it's a real vain, petty sort of would-be tyrant...

Wednesday
Nadume of the Ashen Maze has made the transition over from the old Zalchis blog. Her Labyrinth Lord stats are provided, and we'll be detailing some of her favored retainers and providing more details on the Ashen Waste in the weeks ahead. Nadume's Glyph-Gems can teach you many things, if you strike a good bargain.

Thursday
Bujilli was delayed due to unnecessary roughness on the part of the coffee pot. I scalded my hand pretty badly and needed some time off to heal-up.

Friday
Oneiric Encounters. This is just the beginning. We've been working on Oneirical things for a while now, and as more details get revealed concerning Sprague in the ongoing serialized adventures of Bujilli in Wermspittle, we'll be rolling out more of this sort of stuff.

Saturday
A quick place-holder while my hand healed up; this Square is part of a work-in-progress. you'll see more of this stuff soon.

Sunday
We participated in Tim Snider's Obsolete Simulations Roundup blog-hop. Our first installment was a review and consideration of SPI's orphaned and seemingly abandoned Universe RPG.

Next we'll get caught up on what happened last week...
We did not do a Year-end Retrospective. Yet. We're just more excited about what we're working on for the weeks and months ahead. Now that my hand is healed-up fairly well, we may take a look back. There were some interesting things that happened in 2013...

Sunday, December 22, 2013

Sunday Summary: 12/16 to 12/21, 2013

Here's a quick summary of what we've posted to the blog for the week of  Monday 12/16 to Saturday 12/21, 2013.

Monday
The Rarebit Fiend managed to escape our hard-drive after over two years of being trapped in a forgotten file of rough-drafts. Now we'll be making up for lost time. We have a few more Windsor McCay inspired posts to polish-up and get posted once and for all.

Princess I---, is the second Pre-Generated Character for the impending Zalchis Scenario: Cold Start, that we'll be hosting at Con of the North this coming February. The character sheets for these Pre-Gens will be made available in pdf format once all eight intro-bits have been posted, one at a time, at Midnight. Prince S--- also went up last night. We're purposefully not giving these characters a specific name, only a beginning initial, so that the players can choose a name they prefer. It's the least we can do, what with them all having fallen more or less into the clutches of The Machines of Ludenja...

Tuesday
The Blunderbore also escapes from our hard-drive after years of digital wandering. This denizen of the Public Domain is also a survivor, after a fashion, from our very first campaign. An outcast half-giant brigand. They only ever got three chances to do their thing, back in the Seventies. Maybe they'll do better now that they've been slightly updated...

Lord H-- has now entered the ranks of those potentially going to Zalchis this coming February...

Wednesday
Yellow Creepers escaped from our hard-drive, finally. We have a few more things in the key of yellow that will be showing up shortly.

We also posted our Behind the Scenes Overview for The Gravelands, our set of inter-connected adventures for Swords & Wizardry. With luck we ought to have one or two of the pdfs up and ready to go at DriveThruRPG either really soon, or after the Holidays, depending on how the schedule works out. (Having missed three months has really taken a toll on this year's schedule...) The pre-release/raw versions of Taglar's Tomb and Baljessor's Crypt are already available at our blog, but both have been revised, expanded and converted into a pay-what-you-will pdf. Two of these adventures, Grave-Robbing in Xanibet and Shifting Sands will make their debut at Con of the North in February.

Lady C--- has claimed her place as a possible Player character for the Zalchis: Cold Start Scenario we'll also be running at Con of the North, using a modified mash-up of Labyrinth Lord & Mutant Future.

Thursday
Bujilli: Episode 72 Screams. Blood. Monsters. We're really back in Wermspittle now. There's a poll for this Episode. We'd appreciate your feedback!

Field Officer L--- is now available as a Pre-Generated character to consider for the Zalchis: Cold Start game.

Friday
One more long-delayed post finally makes it out to the blog, this time it is the dreaded Saiitii Manifestations, inspired by William Hope Hodgson's The Whistling Room, one of our favorite Carnacki tales. We'll be getting the Vermiform Appendix, our Wermspittle-centric version of Appendix N posted soon.

We're also gearing-up for the Obsolete Simulations Roundup blog-hop, hosted by The Savage Afterworld blog.

Champion A--- joins the cast of Pre-Gens for Zalchis: Cold Start.

Saturday
We revealed the First Glyph-Stone, one of the strange opals one might encounter within The Ashen Maze, Zalchis and certain points beyond. We'll be detailing three of these gems, for now. Nadume knows of dozens more.

Warrior Z--- is now an option for Zalchis: Cold Start.
One more to go, then the set of eight will be fully introduced. Then we'll post the Character Sheets.

Next Week
A few things got moved around again. The Queue is full, but things might shift about some more, so we'll skip mentioning what's in store, aside from mentioning that we are planning on posting our contribution to The Zones collaborative cross-blog project hosted by the FATEsf blog, and we're working on a pair of entries for the Obsolete Simulations Roundup blog-hop being instigated and hosted by The Savage Afterworld blog, as well as getting things in order for our hosting the January 2014 RPG Blog Carnival with the theme Transitions. More details to follow as things get done and scheduled.

Sunday Summary: 12/9 to 12/14, 2013

Here's a quick summary of what we've posted to the blog for the week of  Monday 12/9 to Saturday 12/14, 2013.

Monday
The Ragossa made its way to the blog after more than two years of wandering around lost within a hard-drive. We're in the process of going over a few more things from the Kalaramar Drifts in preparation of the impending release of the revised and expanded Zilgor's Repose. we'll have more posts concerning the Drifts and such in the weeks ahead.

Tuesday
We return to Wermspittle, this time to re-enter the notorious Sewers & Cellars with another Encounter Table. This is the third of four such tables and is part of the Cellar Inspectors scenario we'll be running at Con of the North in February 2014. And yes, the footer on this post is going to link to the Wermspittle Index, and other stuff as soon as those posts go live in the next few days/weeks. We're working hard to make our blog easier to navigate.

Wednesday
Pretty Young Things is the companion table to the earlier Fine Young Cannibals table of NPCs from Wermspittle. This time around we present a set of 20 Eloi NPCs...some good, some bad, all of them sure to leave a few beautiful corpses in their wake...

We also posted a link to the Great Blog Roll Call, and a One-Minute Monster that has been sitting on the side-lines for months now. We may do a few more one-minute monsters, as well as a few 5-minute-maps. Seems like it might be fun.

Thursday
Bujilli: Episode 71 Bujilli pushes back, rejecting Sprague's initial offer and putting the Oneirist off-balance. Seizing the initiative, he learns a few things that Sprague might not otherwise have admitted. Bujilli wakes up back in his bed. Then the Screaming starts...

Friday
We joined in the December RPG Blog Carnival. The theme this month is Taking Charge and it is being hosted by the Casting Shadows blog. We wrote about our experiences with B2: The Keep on the Borderlands. Next month, we'll be hosting the January RPG Blog Carnival and the Theme will be Transitions. Look for our kick-off post on January First.

The Quick Index to Series Four is now available, making it easier than ever to read through Series Four of Bujilli's on-going adventures.

We also wanted to let folks know that we are in the process of revising the old Zalchis stuff as we transfer it over here to this blog in preparation for our running the Cold Start Scenario at Con of the North in February. More Zalchis posts will start appearing later tonight.

Saturday
Finally, The Summary & Episode Guide to Bujilli's First Series is now fully assembled and posted. We're finishing-up Summaries & Episode Guides for Series Two, Three and Four and will have them ready to go in a few days. Then we'll be updating all the footers for all the episodes to include links to each of the Quick Indexes, Summaries & Episode Guides...as well as a few new things such as a Cast of Characters and a post that gives more details on Bujilli's modified spells. we'll also be going over each and every episode and checking the links, fixing the links, and doing a little clean-up so all the formatting is a bit more consistent.

We also posted an old sketch of a character who we've started writing about again.

Next Week
We moved back our post about the Twenty Deadly Planes that form the foundation of a great many attack spells in Wermspittle, the Kalaramar Drifts and points beyond to later next week. We'll have a couple of posts concerning the Gravelands Series, a new Intro for Zalchis as well as a few revised and expanded Zalchis posts dealing with certain Powers and Persons of interest or note. Our posts detailing the Local Authorities in Wermspittle, including the Sewer Militia and Cellar Inspectors is also in the mix, but we're not sure if it will make it into this coming week or the next.

Sunday Summary: 12/2 to 12/7, 2014

Here's a quick summary of what we've posted to the blog for the week of  Monday 12/2 to Saturday 12/7, 2013.

Monday
We returned to the Strange New World of Kepler 22-B with a random table of Encounters and Events in Sector T-3. We also posted our Index-in-Progress for Sector T-3. All our earlier Sector T-3 entries have been slightly revised and edited, and given a new footer that contains links to the new Index and so on. We will have a few more posts for Kepler 22-B before too long.

The Strange New World blog is coordinating a collaborative cross-blog community effort to map and explore Kepler 22-B as an environment suitable for table-top role-playing games.

Our exploration efforts are focused upon Sector T-3,  a rocky, mountainous region with warm Mediterranean coasts with a few large freshwater lakes and is dominated by vast, dense forests that are book-ended by two distinctly different desert regions. We have only begun to explore this region...

We also posted a sample image for an unrelated work-in-progress. Just to see what readers thought of this new style.

Tuesday
What Lurks Beneath the Purple Glow? We offer a table that contains the seeds for some nested or interrelated encounters out under the denser thickets of the Red Weeds. We'll have more details concerning the Wretches, Graylings and others in the days ahead, especially since Wretches are a playable option in Wermspittle.

Wednesday
Purple Amber is the basis of a lucrative trade in Wermspittle. But it can only be harvested in the Purple Forest, at great personal risk. The Perytons are not the worst thing prowling about in the deep woods. Life in the Lumber Forts doesn't come cheaply. And those that stay over-long in the Purple Forest suffer from the Restless Slumbers, those that don't get eaten by a Hodag...

Thursday
Bujilli: Episode 70 We return to Bujilli after a much-needed holiday break. Has Sprague already made his big move? What's with all the screaming outside the door? Is that blood? Oh wait...that's not right...they're standing out in the snow. Talking. Sprague wants to make a deal...

Friday
We're going to Con of the North this coming February. Here's a first look at the scenarios we'll be running, including two Mini-Adventures in the Gravelands Series for Swords & Wizardry, a session with the Cellar Inspectors of Wermspittle, and a spirecrawl in Zalchis. We'll be posting more details for each of these scenarios, including the Pre-Generated characters and some handy supplemental bits and pieces.

Saturday
Latterkamp. Domain of the Goules. Thankfully our visit to this infamous, Strange Place is brief. This time.

Next Week
We reveal Twenty Deadly Planes that form the foundation of a great many attack spells in Wermspittle, the Kalaramar Drifts and points beyond. There will be more details regarding the Gravelands Series, a new Intro for Zalchis, and we'll talk about the Local Authorities in Wermspittle, including the Sewer Militia and Cellar Inspectors.

Sunday, December 1, 2013

Sunday Summary: 11/24 to 11/30, 2013

Here's a quick summary of what we've posted to the blog for the week of  Monday 11/24 to Saturday 11/30, 2013.

Monday
We kicked off the week with Glushigon's Mask, a notoriously temperamental magic item that combines Black Smoke with the suppression of arcane knowledge in a fairly unique manner.

Tuesday
We offered a Random Table just for those times when the player characters decide to spend some quality time safely tucked away in their rooms at one of those inns, hostels or flop-houses they are prone to frequent between adventures. Don't Look Under the Bed reveals what inquiring characters might find waiting for them, either before they lay themselves down to sleep...or in the middle of the night. However best serves the schemes of the DM/GM...

Wednesday
Ten Takers, mostly-despicable bounty-hunters and professional abductors who ply their sordid trade within the environs of Wermspittle, and sometimes elsewhere. Not every villain or opponent met on the road wants to kill everyone they meet. These folks prefer to capture their chosen victims alive, usually, some on behalf of cruel masters or on the basis of a contract or quota, others do it because they like it, or are just so damn good at it.

Thursday
Bujilli: Episode 70 saw Bujilli taking the day off to spend with Mr. Sprinkles, The Shen and the rest of his extended family who were in town for the holiday. Niobe brought something she claimed was turkey. No one had any. She went away angry. As usual.

Friday
Just in time for the November RPG Blog Carnival, we did a set of three tables for Gunpowder, Treason and Plots!

Saturday
The Pruztian Five-Pence Piece has a solemn reputation among those who served within the ranks of the New Model Pruztian Armies, as well as other more fortunate souls. this form of Foreign Currency can be found increasingly more often within Wermspittle, carried by Pruztian Refugees, displaced units, even deserters. Esoteric Numismatists can now compare these grim coins with the Dread Pennys of Nagrothea.

Next Week
We return to the Purple Forest, after a fashion, to reveal a few details regarding Purple Amber, a much-coveted and highly sought-after commodity within Wermspittle and points beyond. We've also uncovered a bunch of posts that got lost in the transition from our old blog, so we'll finally be able to let the Ragossa and a few other long-lost creatures, treasures and the like loose once and for all. We may also have a few more details to offer regarding certain other Nagrothean matters...

Sunday, November 24, 2013

Sunday Summary: 11/17 to 11/23, 2013

Here's a quick summary of what we've posted to the blog for the week of  Monday 11/17 to Saturday 11/23, 2013.

Monday
The Twelve Lesser Servitors of Kudara presented both a new spell and a dozen new minor monsters for spell-casters to summon up at lower levels. This is a companion of sorts to the Ten Wicked Little Things we presented last week.

Tuesday
We revealed quite a bit of detail regarding the Black Smoke and the horrifying impact it has had on Wermspittle...and the surrounding regions.

Wednesday
The Twenty-Fourth Entity of the Thirty-Six Configurations. This is another in a series of unique, summonable entities as detailed within a disreputable grimoire currently in circulation in Wermspittle as an underground manuscript. We revealed the Ninth Entity previously, and will eventually work our way through the remainder, as we uncover more details in the course of our studies.

Thursday
Bujilli: Episode 69 Kicked-off Series Five with Bujilli recovering from his drastic confrontation in Episode 68. We also got a chance to see some old friends and acquaintances. Things did not sit still in Wermspittle during his absence. Now Bujilli must prepare for what comes next. But should he ready a spell? Put on his new armor and take up a weapon? Or something else? You Decide!

Friday
Things Found on a Morlock's Tool-Belt. Another random table from Wermspittle. This time you get one hundred tools, trinkets and strange things that only a Morlock would carry in its tool-belt.

Saturday
Soulless in Wermspittle delves into the background and origins of one of the major villainous factions behind the Corruption Trade and a great deal of the suffering and bloodshed that keeps Wermspittle just the way they like it.

Next Week...
We're still working on clearing out some older posts from the queue before they fossilize into something unmentionable. There should be a few more tables, monsters and spells in the mix. Possibly a monster from the Kalaramar Drifts. Maybe a map. We'll see what gets through the editorial process in what order, especially with the holiday looming large on the calendar...

Sunday, November 17, 2013

Sunday Summary: 11/11 to 11/16, 2013

Here's a quick summary of what we've posted to the blog for the week of  Monday 11/11 to Saturday 11/16, 2013.

Monday
Red Weeds started off the week. A truly invasive species, the Red Weeds have become a very fundamental part of Wermspittle, having overgrown portions of the Burned Over Districts and clogging at least two cisterns. Originally the Red Weeds were nuisances, sometimes hazards or pests; now they are being studied, experimented upon, even harvested...

Tuesday
Agents of the Comprachicos revealed some of the people working for the Comprachico families. These aren't the usual sort of villains or monsters...

Wednesday
Ten Wicked Little Things presented a set of ten minor monsters summoned forth by either version of the spell Dalrin's Lesser Call.

Thursday
Bujilli: Episode 68 wrapped-up Series Four and set the stage for Series Five beginning next Thursday. We'll be going back over all the previous Episodes and supplemental posts and fixing links, revising a few things and getting a lot of long-pending Bujilli-stuff posted, hopefully in the next couple of weeks.

Friday
Sottarix's Six Clouds is another sample spell from one of the PDFs we're getting ready to release into the wild. This obscure spell grants the caster access to one of six very nasty vaporous horrors to unleash upon their foes...though some of the options can be as hazardous to the caster as to the intended victim. Please use discretion. Not intended for use with penguins.

Saturday
Underworld Lore Issue 2 is now available, and we did a short review of Porky's new release at RPGnow: The Manse, a truly useful tool for creating and fleshing-out huge ruined piles and spooky old mansions for under a buck. Click here to go to Underworld Lore #2.  Click here to see the review.  Click here to go right to The Manse.

Next Week, we'll finally see the delayed Black Smoke, More Morlocks, Eldritch Servitors, and at least one more new spell, not to mention the beginning of the next Series for Bujilli!

Sunday, November 10, 2013

Sunday Summary: 11/2 to 11/9, 2013

Here's a quick summary of what we've posted to the blog for the week of  Monday 11/2 to Saturday 11/9, 2013.

Monday
We started off the week with a table of 20 More Suspicious Manuscripts and Decaying Texts from Wermspittle. This is a continuation of last week's Werm-Riddled Manuscripts table. Both are part of a series. You might also consider taking a look at Fictional Works Mentioned in Gargantua, and keep an eye out for another installment in the series, probably next week.
Or you could investigate the ancient community project we hosted back in the Olden Days of the OSR for Inside the Tome, if you're interested in that sort of thing. Matt made a nice PDF out of that project and you can grab a copy at his blog Rended Press, where he offers a ton of cool free downloads.

Tuesday
We interrupted our regularly scheduled posting to give a well-deserved shout-out to Swords & Wizardry Complete now becoming a Free PDF. This is an exciting new development, brought about through the current Frog God Games Kickstarter for The Sword of Air that has now gained over 400+ contributors. We'll update things once we have more details. In the meantime you might want to click over to Matt Finch's blog to see what's going on. If you want to grab a copy of the PDF, drop over to Tenkar's Tavern and he'll be glad to make that happen. Big Thank You to the fine folks at Frog God Games for doing this! You might also want to take a look at the current Bundle of Holding deal--it's chock full of Swords & Wizardry and other OSR goodness!

We'll have details regarding our upcoming Swords & Wizardry (and Labyrinth Lord) games scheduled for Con of the North this February in the next little bit here.

Wednesday
For Wednesday we returned to Wermspittle for a Random Table of 100 Things Found in the Burned Over Districts, inspired by things mentioned in passing by the protagonist of Mr. Well's The War of the Worlds. We have a lot more things coming in a similar vein in the days ahead, many of them can be found by performing a label-search for the tag 'After the Wars.' The Morlocks are returning next week, as are the Red Weeds...

Thursday
Episode 67 of Bujilli's continuing adventures ended on a cliff-hanger. He was re-united with Leeja, appears to have defeated his nefarious Uncle, wiped-out the vicious horde of undead Yeren (with Leeja's timely assistance), and even experienced a brief moment of long anticipated pay-back only to succumb to his wounds, blood-loss and shock from all the spells and unpleasantness foisted upon him by his Uncle. A great deal was resolved, more or less...but is it finally over between Bujilli and his Uncle? Maybe we'll find out next week...

Friday
Borrowed Trouble, a table of things that doesn't necessarily concern your characters, unless they decide to make it their business to get involved.

Saturday
The Comprachicos, an insidious, despicable cabal that preys upon the mobs of children sent to Wermspittle each Spring for the Revels. So many people do nothing, allowing these evil-doers to flourish and thrive behind the scenes. Will anyone step forward and try to end this terrible, twisted form of flesh-peddling? These are monsters of a different sort. Well-connected. Wealthy, influential, with their hooks into just about everything. Brute force will only take you so far...you'll need every bit of your cunning and wit to stand up to these vile villains.

John Till over at the FATE SF blog has kicked-off his first Community Project, a Cross-Blog Exploration of the Zones from the novel Roadside Picnic and the movie Stalker. You can learn more by clicking over to the Zones Community Project Table to see what has been posted so far (this table will be updated regularly), and if you're at all interested in contributing to the Zones Project, be sure to check out the Participation Guidelines.

Next Week?
More Morlocks, some details concerning Red Weeds and Black Smoke, a few Agents of the Comprachicos, maybe some more new spells, some over-due revision and cleaning-up of loose-ends (internal links...) and maybe if we're lucky a fresh PDF. We might even squeeze-in some stuff for TsanYian or Zalchis...both of which are going to be pulled back into one central blog: this one. Oh and monsters. There will be more new monsters. Soon...

Sunday Summary: Our Posts for the Week of 10/28 to 11/2, 2013

Here's a quick summary of what we've posted to the blog for the week of  Monday 10/28 to Saturday 11/1, 2013.

Monday
What the Glandculler is Selling Today...
A table of twenty options covering a wide range of glandular modifications available to anyone who can meet the Glandculler's price. We'll have the Peculiar Organs and Glands Table to go with this one for those of you still looking for it since it was first mentioned in the first Almas write-up. We're going back over the old entries and compiling a master list of everything that needs to get posted or published so it's available...then we get to go back into everything and update and adjust the links...

Later on Monday we posted about the wonderfully weird Those Aren't Worms table for Wermspittle over at Dungeon of Signs. The table is great stuff, but take a look at that blog--it is simply amazing and packed with great things. We're big fans of the Flying Monkey monster/character class for Labyrinth Lord, and the whole H. M. S. Appollyon series/setting is incredible. Highly recommended!

We also posted a set of Six Secret Spells to accompany the grotesquely beautiful Wizard-Frog posted over at the Last Gasp blog. Another blog we highly recommend...even though it might not always be entirely safe for work...it's always thought provoking and beautifully executed.

Tuesday
Distracting and Disturbing Sounds, a table of twenty odd noises that lead into a variety of encounters or adventure hooks or situations in need of resolution, perfect for those times when the player characters think that they're going to get a night's sleep or some much needed rest. Ha! Not in Wermspittle...dreaming can be deadly and sleep can kill in this wretched place...

Wednesday
Ten Werm-Riddled Manuscripts available from the more disreputable and questionable book-sellers and manuscript-peddlers in Wermspittle. Don't see what you're looking for? No problem. There are more on the way...

Thursday
Bujilli: Episode 66. Answers aren't always solutions, nor is knowledge necessarily comforting. Bujilli gets a long desired glimpse of the truth of things. So many lies that he's been raised to believe fall away. His father stands before him. The confrontation he was ready for wasn't the one he got, but it was the one he perhaps needed. Then the real confrontation begins! There's a poll at the end of the Episode so be sure to vote for what you think Bujilli ought to do next. After all: You Decide!

Friday
We took a break from regularly-scheduled stuff to play around a bit with a Spell Design Challenge that was posted to the Swords & Wizardry Discussion Group on G+. We still don't do very much with G+, yet, but this just sounded like it would be fun, so we did it. We drafted three new first-level spells that summon up a minor demon-thingy, equal in over-all firepower to a Magic Missile, with a chance of the things breaking loose...as per the terms of the Challenge. How did we do?

Saturday
We plugged Gorgonmilk's excellent new OSR zine: Underworld Lore. It's cool, it has wicked fungi in it, and it's FREE. So go check it out. With luck, we'll have something in the second issue, and if you're so inclined, you can contribute to the effort as well.

You might also have spotted some of our artwork over at FATE SF for the Silver Cobwebs and Things Found in the Zone - List A. If you haven't checked out FATE SF yet, click over and take a look at all the great stuff there. The beauty of the FATE rpg  is that you can easily tack-on whatever other rules you want to the descriptions, so practically everything there is very easy to adapt to OSR usage. We highly recommend the FATE Bestiary over there--some really excellent critters!

Next Week?
More Manuscripts, a new monster, the continuing adventures of Bujilli, more spells and something else that can remain nameless for now.
